MASTER ARCHITECTURAL COMMITTEE
The Master Architectural Committee (MAC) was formed in accordance with the Association's CC&Rs (Article IV, Section 4.01), and is comprised of Lake Forest II homeowners who voluntarily donate their time and efforts to serve you on this committee. The MAC reviews applications submitted by homeowners who are planning improvements that will alter the exterior appearance of their properties, such as remodeling; painting; new doors, windows, or garage doors; roofing; fencing; hardscape; landscaping; tree removal; etc. The MAC meets at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, at the Sun & Sail Club. To have your plans on the MAC agenda, please submit by noon on the Friday prior to the MAC meeting your MAC Application and all required attachments. (This form is available in the "Architectural Improvements" file on this page, at the Front Desk, and in the Community Services Department at the Club.) If you have any questions, or need assistance with your application, please contact Kim Back at 586-0860, Ext. 15, or kback@lf2.org. She will be happy to help you!
HEARING BOARD
The Hearing Board was established for the purpose of conducting "show cause" hearings for failure to comply with the Association's CC&Rs, and to render decisions on further Association action based on facts presented by the Staff and the alleged violator. The Hearing Board may grant extensions when circumstances dictate, or levy fines for non-compliance. The Hearing Board is appointed by the Board of Directors, and consists of five volunteer members who are Lake Forest II homeowners; three are regular members and two are alternates. For more information about the Hearing Board, please contact Jenny Chambers, Community Relations Manager, at 586-0860, Ext. 13, or jchambers@lf2.org. You may view the Hearing Board Charter in the "Committee Charters" folder, below.
BUDGET & FINANCE COMMITTEE
The Budget & Finance Committee is chartered to function in an advisory capacity, reviewing and making specific recommendations to the Board of Directors in matters of financial management planning, the preliminary Annual Budget, financial control and accountability, monthly reports, Association insurance policies and investments, Association and Tract reserves; and reviewing and making recommendations on other items at the request of the Board of Directors. The Budget & Finance Committee consists of at least three volunteer homeowners appointed by the Board of Directors. The Association's Treasurer acts a liaison between the Committee and the Board of Directors. For more information about Association finances or the Budget & Finance Committee, please contact Cindy Christenson at 586-0860, Ext. 18, or cchristenson@lf2.org. You may view the Budget & Finance Committee charter in the "Committee Charters" folder, below.

 2010 POTENTIAL RESERVE EXPENDITURES
 |
In accordance with the Association's Resolution "A", potential reserve expenditures must be published and noticed for the membership (homeowners), after which a public hearing must be held to give homeowners the opportunity to comment on the potential reserve projects/purchases. The list of 2010 Potential Reserve Expenditures was approved for publication in The Mainsheet by the Board of Directors at their December 2, 2009, regular meeting, at which time the Board also set the date for the public hearing on January 6, 2010.
Inclusion on this list does not guarantee that all items will be replaced during 2010. These are items that have reached or exceeded their anticipated "useful life", and may or may not need to be replaced in 2010. Before any reserve item replacement is made, the Board of Directors must receive bids and approve that specific reserve fund expenditure.

Musick Jail Tour Report & Photos
  |
Community members, including representatives of the Board and Staff at Lake Forest II, toured the James A. Musick Jail facility in Irvine on August 25, 2010. Besides details about the operations of the jail, the visitors learned more about the proposal to house I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) inmates there for short periods while awaiting possible deportation. The cost of housing these inmates would be reimbursed by the Federal government.
This detailed report makes interesting reading, especially for those of us who live near the Musick Jail.

  Sub-Associations
  |
There are four Sub-Associations within the Lake Forest II Master Homeowners Association:
- Lake Forest Keys
- The Oaks
- Lakeside Park
- Serrano Woods
Streets and/or common areas located in a Sub-Association are maintained by that Sub-Association, and owners of properties within that Sub-Association pay an additional assessment for these services. The Master Association's basic dues are not used to support the maintenance of any streets or common areas in any Sub-Association tract. Sub-Associations having their own private streets are The Keys, The Oaks, and Serrano Woods. Lakeside Park has public (City-owned) streets.
